Burgersdorp Development Agency

Burgersdorp works better when we build it together.

We're a community-led development agency working across Burgersdorp on small business support, skills training, local infrastructure, and tourism. Every project we run is shaped by the people who live here, not decided for them. We're now rolling out our Economic Revitalisation Programme: a funded plan to bring new investment into town, create jobs, and unlock the JL de Bruin Dam as a regional destination.

Our programmes

Small Business Support

Help with registration, basic bookkeeping, stock planning, and a small-loan referral network for shop owners and traders on Church Street and beyond.

Skills & Training

Short courses in digital literacy, welding, hospitality, and early childhood development, taught in the hall behind the old post office.

Infrastructure

We map broken water lines, pothole clusters, and streetlight outages, then push them up the right channel and track them until they’re fixed.

Tourism & Investment Promotion

Building a case for Burgersdorp as a stopover town, from Stormberg hiking routes to heritage buildings worth restoring and renting out.

Youth Development

Sponsorship and kit for young sportspeople, paid work at agency events, and the cultural days our youth committees run.
