Projects
What we’re working on right now.
A running list, not a highlight reel. Some of these are finished, most are in motion, and a few are still being scoped with residents.
In planning
Church Street Traders’ Clinic
A weekly drop-in session where shop owners can get help with registration paperwork, pricing, and basic bookkeeping. Eleven traders have gone through the clinic since it started this year.
In planning
Digital Literacy Pilot Course
Our first six-week course, run for eighteen job seekers, covering basic computer use, email, and online job applications. Fourteen participants finished the course and three have since found work.
In planning
Town-Wide Fault Map
Walking every street in Burgersdorp to log broken water lines, pothole clusters, and streetlight outages onto one public map, then chasing each one with the responsible department until it’s fixed.
In planning
Stormberg Trail Waymarking
Scoping a marked day-hike route from the edge of town into the Stormberg foothills, with resting points and a printed trail map for visitors passing through.
In progress
Tourism Skills Training
Training 15 local residents in guiding, hospitality, and customer service, to prepare them for growing visitor demand along the N6.
In planning
Township Sports League
Revitalising sports facilities in Mzamomhle and setting up structured leagues to engage youth and strengthen social cohesion across the town.
Complete
JL de Bruin Dam Clean-Up
An immediate community-led clean-up and activation of the JL de Bruin Dam precinct, restoring pride and preparing the site for the larger flagship conference centre.
In planning
JL de Bruin Dam Conference Centre
Our flagship, multi-phase project: a regional conference, events, and accommodation centre on the underused dam precinct, developed through a blended-finance partnership with the municipality and private investors. Expected to create 50–100 permanent jobs.
